Midweek Lotto Celebrations Postponed
Updated: Wednesday 9th April 2014
Players who had hoped to celebrate a midweek Lotto jackpot win last night had to postpone such plans because none of the tickets entered were able to match all six of the main numbers drawn. The Lotto results for Wednesday 6 March (selected by the machine named Arthur) were 03, 09, 14, 38, 42 and 47, and the Bonus Ball number was 19. The top prize in the midweek game was worth just over £2 million, so the estimated value of the rollover jackpot this Saturday 9 March is around £6.1 million – enough to fund the kind of celebrations usually reserved for Hollywood stars!
The jackpot festivities might have been put on hold on Wednesday, but there were quite a few consolation prize winners who had good reason to pop a cork or two. The biggest Lotto winners on the night were the owners of six tickets that matched five of the main numbers as well as the Bonus Ball to land a second-tier prize worth £106,855 each.
279 tickets won £1,436 each by matching five main numbers only, and more than 275,000 other tickets matched four or three main numbers to win £61 or £10 each. The prizes mentioned at the lowest tiers won’t have been enough to buy much Champagne, but they should certainly be sufficient to fund a celebratory tipple or two for the players concerned.
Irish Lottery players were also trying to land a brand new jackpot last night, but again, success at the highest level couldn’t be attained. The Irish Lotto results for Wednesday were 04, 10, 11, 16, 17 and 35, with the number 38 appearing as the Bonus Ball, and the best that any player could do was match five main numbers only. 28 tickets managed that feat to win a prize of €1,756 each, and over 34,000 tickets won smaller prizes by matching fewer numbers. The next Irish Lotto jackpot this Saturday will be worth around €2.5 million.
We commiserate with anyone who had to postpone their jackpot-winning celebrations last night, but perhaps you will have an even bigger reason to throw a party this weekend. Head this way to buy your lottery tickets online and if you don’t land the £44 million jackpot in the EuroMillions game on Friday you could still win yourself £6.1 million in the Lotto game on Saturday. Good luck and remember to give us a shout if you win big!
