March EuroMillions Superdraw
Updated: Friday 25th April 2014
There will be a EuroMillions Superdraw held on Friday 6 March, 2009, it has been announced. This will follow hot on the heels of the coming EuroMillions double rollover jackpot, giving National Lottery players plenty to get excited about.
Unlike previous superdraws, the jackpot will be able to roll over to the following draw if nobody wins. The odds of matching the seven numbers required (five main numbers from the range 1 to 50 and two Lucky Stars from the range 1 to 9) are 1 in 76,275,360, but in a superdraw the jackpot tends to be even bigger. Lottery officials say that if nobody wins and the jackpot does roll over, we could soon be playing for a jackpot of around £185 million!
The official announcement of a March superdraw will come as some relief to those National Lottery players who were disappointed by the lack of a EuroMillions birthday superdraw in February, 2009. Birthday superdraws have become something of a tradition and are eagerly anticipated by many players, so when no such draw was organised for 2009 it cam as quite a surprise.
Of course, we can put that disappointment behind us now that we have lots of good stuff to look forward to – a double rollover and a EuroMillions superdraw in the space of just a few weeks isn’t something that happens often, so we should make the most of it. Buy lottery tickets online and you won’t even have to leave your house to stand a chance of winning!Published: Tuesday 24th February 2009
