Luxury Cruise for Lucky Dip Winner
A Lotto player who decided to participate in the game on the spur of the moment is now planning to take a luxury cruise with his wife Linda after one of his Lucky Dip entries matched five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball. Details of Andrew Martin’s win have only just been released, but the win itself took place on Saturday 1 October when the Lotto results were 04, 15, 17, 26, 37 and 41, along with 29 as the Bonus Ball. There were thirteen second-tier prize winners in that game, and each of them won £106,339. Now Andrew is looking forward to celebrating his 50th birthday in style…
“We had always been planning to go on a cruise in 2013 to celebrate both my wife’s 50th birthday and my 50th birthday,” Andrew explained. “We have been saving up for our special birthdays. Now, we will definitely be travelling first class and we are both looking forward to this being a really luxurious holiday.”
The Lotto win almost didn’t happen for Andrew because he hadn’t really intended to buy himself a ticket on the Friday before the draw. “I had no plans to go out on this day,” he said. “My wife was going to her cousin’s 50th birthday party so I had gone to Tesco to buy my tea. There wasn’t a queue at the lottery check-out so I decided to give it a go. There are certain numbers which I always choose when I play the lottery but then I also had a couple of Lucky Dips.”
That spur of the moment decision paid off handsomely, because the very next evening one of his Lucky Dip entries landed him a six-figure windfall, even though he initially thought that he had won a lot less when he saw the results on TV. “I actually thought I had just won a few thousand pounds,” Andrew said. “I shouted to Linda who was ironing and said: ‘We’ve won – I’ve matched five numbers.’ It was only when Linda double checked the ticket that we realised we had the bonus number too and had in fact won more than £100,000.”
We congratulate Andrew and Linda on their Bonus Ball win and we hope that they have a very enjoyable cruise in 2013. And for anyone who fancies doing something similar, the EuroMillions jackpot this evening (Tuesday 8 November) will be worth a staggering £46 million, so buy your lottery tickets without delay and keep your fingers crossed!
