Lucky Seven Jackpot Winners
Updated: Friday 10th October 2014
No less than seven lucky lottery players matched all six numbers to win a share of the £6.8 million Lotto jackpot on Saturday 5 September, 2009. Coincidentally, the set of balls used was number 7. Each winner gets a £972,256 slice of the lottery jackpot pie – probably not as much as most National Lottery players hope for in the event of a jackpot win, but certainly enough to bring a smile to their faces.
The lottery results for the Lotto game on Saturday 5 September were 12, 19, 22, 26, 36 and 41, and the bonus ball was 39. In addition to the seven lucky jackpot winners, who have not yet been named, a further 18 players matched five main numbers and the bonus ball to win £84,089 each.
The EuroMillions jackpot on Friday 4 September was a lot more elusive, and no player managed to match the five main balls and two Lucky Star numbers that are required to win it. This means that the EuroMillions jackpot for this Friday 11 September will be worth around £37 million. And no matter what happens next Friday, there will be a EuroMillions Superdraw on Friday 18 September worth around €100 million!
Add to all of this the new Millionaire Raffle game that debuts in November and it is clear that National Lottery players in the UK have a great deal to look forward to over the next few weeks and months.
In the meantime, the seven jackpot winners who have discovered their win will no doubt be thinking about what to do with the extra £972,256 that they landed last Saturday. For many it is likely that a new home will be on the cards, along with a new car or two. The settling of mortgages and enjoying holidays in sunnier climes are also likely to be high on the agenda.
As for those of us who didn’t land a jackpot last week, we have this week’s lottery action to look forward to. Whether you prefer EuroMillions, Lotto or any other lottery game, buy lottery tickets online today and the next big winner could be you!Published: Monday 7th September 2009
