The lottery can be won by beginners and long-servers as two recent Jackpot winners have proved. From the draw on Saturday 8 September Susan and Jeffrey Wall (aged 53) who have been married for 36 years and have three children in their 30s, won a £2,443,024 half-share of the lottery jackpot. One week later Ollie Kennedy and Kelly Lucas (aged 18) who have a seven-month old son won a £716,766 fifth share of the lottery jackpot.
Both couples used numbers that they had selected themselves. Susan used family member’s house numbers and has played them regularly since the lottery began, never expecting a ‘normal’ couple like them might win. Their numbers were 4,10,20,24,39,49 and their ticket was bought at the Co-Op on the high street in Blaina, Gwent. Ollie and Kelly started playing the lottery two months ago and selected their numbers using family birthday dates and lucky numbers. Their lucky numbers were 3,7,12,21,25,36 and the ticket was bought at the Post Office in Folkestone, Kent.
Top of Susan’s shopping list is a new VW Golf car, but she’s sure her family will have some further ideas. Ollie and Kelly plan to buy a house together after Kelly has bought a pink Peugeot 206 and Ollie has taken some driving lessons.Wednesday 17th October 2007
