Lotto Win for Pub Syndicate

Lotto Win for Pub Syndicate
Updated: Monday 21st September 2015

A lottery syndicate of staff and regulars at the Bakers Arms pub in Blandford Forum, Dorset, is celebrating a Lotto win worth £58,622 after it managed to match five main numbers and the Bonus Ball in the game on Saturday 27 March. The lottery results for that draw were 06, 11, 15, 32, 38 and 42, and the Bonus Ball was number 24. The Baker Arms syndicate has 38 members in total, so each member is now £1,542 richer, and there are naturally quite a few ways in which the winners intend to spend their share of the cash.

The Baker Arms syndicate is led by Caroline Dennett, who just happens to run the pub with her husband Jim. “Most of the winners are planning a holiday of some sort,” Caroline said, “as it’s just the right amount of windfall to treat yourself to a nice break away, but one of the syndicate members has just had twins – so he’ll be forking out for special twin baby car seats with his share of the win!”

The Lotto win was discovered when one of the members decided to check the lottery results on Ceefax during a quiet part of the afternoon. Caroline double-checked their ticket to make sure that a mistake hadn’t been made, and as soon as she confirmed that the syndicate had matched five main numbers and the bonus ball, the good news started spreading throughout the pub.

“The Baker Arms is a real local pub, and is definitely the hub of the community, so we’re delighted to have won this money and be able to share it out with so many of our regulars and our staff,” Caroline said. “Jim and I will either use our share of the money towards a holiday to Florida, or we might put some of it back into the pub and invest in a wood burning stove. I think we’ll also have a bit of a bash here to celebrate too.”

We congratulate the Baker Arms syndicate and wish everyone the best of luck in winning an even bigger prize this week. Buy lottery tickets online and if you don’t win the £2.4 million Lotto jackpot on Wednesday 21 April you just might win the EuroMillions double rollover jackpot of £38 million this Friday 23 April!
