Lotto Split as EuroMillions Rolls

Lotto Split as EuroMillions Rolls
Updated: Tuesday 22nd April 2014

The EuroMillions jackpot on Friday 17 August rolled over for the second time in a row after no ticket matched all five main numbers and both Lucky Stars. That means lottery players will now have a double-rollover jackpot of around £27 million to play for this Tuesday. The Lotto jackpot on Saturday 18 August was a lot more cooperative, and two tickets matched the six numbers needed to land it. The jackpot had a final value of £4,319,328, so each of the winners just mentioned is now £2,159,664 richer than they were before the weekend.

The main numbers drawn in the EuroMillions game on Friday were 19, 25, 28, 33 and 44, and the Lucky Stars were 02 and 08. Because the jackpot itself rolled over, the biggest winner on Friday was the UK player who won £1,000,000 by matching the Millionaire Raffle number LGC446433. Nine tickets – three of which were bought by players in the UK – matched all five main EuroMillions numbers and one of the Lucky Stars to win a second-tier consolation prize of £143,967 each. Another six tickets won £71,983 each after matching the five main numbers only.

Of course, the consolation prizes in the EuroMillions game didn’t end there. 95 tickets matched four main numbers and both Lucky Stars to win £2,273 each and 1,240 tickets won £152 each by matching four main numbers and one Lucky Star. All told, a total of 3,055,866 EuroMillions prizes were won by players on Friday night, so there were plenty of people with something to smile about.

Even bigger smiles were probably on the faces of the two players who shared the Lotto jackpot on Saturday. The Lotto results were 21, 27, 38, 42, 44 and 46, with the number 41 appearing as the Bonus Ball, and seven tickets matched five of the main numbers as well as the Bonus Ball to win £189,860 each. Another 396 tickets won £2,097 each by matching five main numbers only, 23,911 tickets matched four numbers to win £76 each and 448,742 tickets matched three main numbers to win £10 each. The next Lotto jackpot this Wednesday will be worth around £2.1 million.

Next Monday 27 August is a Bank Holiday, so if you get lucky this week you just might win yourself a fortune in time for the long weekend. Buy your lottery tickets for the midweek EuroMillions and Lotto games today and good luck!
