Lotto Prepares to Celebrate 20 Years!
Updated: Wednesday 12th November 2014
The Lotto game is preparing to celebrate its 20th birthday, and players are going to reap the rewards in less than two weeks time. The first National Lottery draw took place on Saturday 19 November, 1994, so the game is officially 20 years old next Wednesday. There will, of course, be a midweek draw to enjoy on the day itself, but the real excitement will come on Saturday 22 November, when the game will create 20 millionaires, guaranteed . Our advice is to buy your tickets early so that you don't risk missing out!
Players will obviously be keen to participate in the big celebration game on Saturday 22 November, but there are still a few other lottery draws to enjoy before we get there. The first EuroMillions draw of the week took place last night, and that offered a brand new jackpot that was worth £11.7 million. No ticket was able to match all five of the main numbers (02, 14, 21, 36 and 46) as well as both Lucky Stars (07 and 11) so the next game this Friday will offer a rollover jackpot that is expected to be worth around £19 million.
The jackpot wasn't the only prize that eluded EuroMillions players last night because no ticket succeeded at the second tier prize level either. The good news is that seven tickets matched the five main numbers only to win £137,598 each at the third tier, and four of those tickets had been purchased by players in the UK. More than 1.46 million consolation prizes were won in total, with players in this county sharing the combined sum of £2,627,047. Another UK player won £1,000,000 by matching the Millionaire Maker code NCK928604.
The 746th EuroMillions game will take place in just a few days time, giving participants the chance to win the rollover jackpot of £19 million that we mentioned earlier. In the meantime, the midweek Lotto game this evening will be offering a jackpot with an estimated value of £2.1 million, and the associated Lotto Raffle game will create 50 winners of £20,000 each.
Click here to buy tickets for both games online, and don't forget that if you enter your Lotto numbers for the next four draws you will automatically be involved in the Lotto birthday celebration draw on Saturday 22 November. Good luck and let us know if you win big!
