Lotto Marks Changes by Creating 25 Millionaires on Saturday 10th October
Updated: Wednesday 5th July 2017
The upcoming Lotto changes, which take effect in time for the draw on Saturday 10th October, will be marked on the night by a special version of the new Lotto Millionaire Raffle game which will create 25 millionaires. The new supplementary game will replace Lotto Raffle and, following the launch event, it will offer one prize of £1 million and 20 awards of £20,000 every time Lotto is played, rather than the current 50 prizes of £20,000.
Similar to Lotto Raffle, players will be automatically entered into Lotto Millionaire Raffle, with a code being automatically generated on their ticket for every Lotto line they purchase. Lotto Raffle has given away multiple seven-figure sums in the past, providing ten prizes of £1 million on Valentine’s Day this year, but the draw on Saturday 10th October will see Lotto create its biggest-ever number of newly-minted millionaires in one night.
Other major changes taking place starting on Thursday 8th October include the introduction of ten more balls into the pool and a new prize tier, awarding players who match just two main numbers with a Lotto Lucky Dip ticket. The current four-rollover limit will be scrapped at the same time, meaning that jackpots will be able to grow to a new cap of £50 million. Visit Lotto Changes to find out everything you need to know about the new rules.
The penultimate draw under the current system will take place on Saturday night, with a jackpot worth £3.8 million up for grabs. You can buy Lotto tickets online or from authorised retailers up until the cut-off point for sales, at 7:30pm on the day of the draw. Good luck!Published: Thursday 1st October 2015
