Lotto Jackpot Won by Two
Updated: Thursday 24th April 2014
The Lotto jackpot on Saturday 2 April was worth £4,777,974, and that amount was shared between two winning tickets, giving each one a value of £2,388,987. We don’t yet know if the owners of those tickets are individual players or lottery syndicates, but either way they will have plenty to celebrate when they discover their wins, if they haven’t already done so. For those of you who haven’t yet checked your Lotto tickets, the results for last Saturday’s draw were 12, 14, 32, 44, 48 and 49, and the Bonus Ball was number 25.
Four Lotto players matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball to win a consolation prize of £367,536 each, and 384 players matched five main numbers without the Bonus Ball to win £2,392 each. 514,562 smaller prizes of either £84 or £10 were won by players matching four or three main numbers, respectively.
In the EuroMillions game on Friday 1 April, one player matched the five main numbers (04, 17, 21, 22 and 33) and both Lucky Stars (04 and 08) to win the jackpot of £13,269,000. Although the jackpot winner wasn’t from the UK, one EuroMillions player here did win £1,000,000 in the Millionaire Raffle game, thanks to the winning number VQF823383.
Eight players matched the five main EuroMillions numbers and one Lucky Star to win a second tier prize worth €429,383, but none of those winners were in the UK either. Fortunately for UK players, there are plenty of other EuroMillions prizes to be won beyond the first two tiers, and players here were among the 22 who won £27,672 by matching five main numbers only. A total of 198 players won £2,196 each for matching four main numbers and both Lucky Stars, and there were 2.21 million EuroMillions prizes won overall.
Both jackpots have now been reset, so lottery players have a top prize of around £2.4 million to play for in the Lotto game this Wednesday 6 April and around £13 million to have a go at on in the EuroMillions game on Friday.
