Lotto Jackpot Split in Two

Lotto Jackpot Split in Two
Updated: Friday 10th October 2014

The Lotto jackpot for the game held on Wednesday 19 May was split in two after just as many tickets matched all six numbers required to win it. The jackpot was worth £2,797,394, so each of the winning tickets in now worth £1,398,697. It is obviously too early to know who the owners of the jackpot-winning tickets are, and maybe we never will (incidentally, the winner of the record-breaking EuroMillions jackpot last Friday has decided to remain anonymous) but if they do go public you can be certain that we will bring you full details at the earliest opportunity. In the meantime, here is how the latest Lotto draw panned out for the players involved…

The lottery results, which were selected by the Merlin lottery machine, were 15, 23, 24, 34, 36 and 47, with the number 44 being selected as the Bonus Ball. Seven lucky players matched five of the main numbers and the Bonus Ball to win a very impressive consolation prize of £122,962 each. 241 players matched five numbers only and won £2,232 each. All told, 272,418 prizes were paid out, and their combined value totalled more than £7.9 million.

With the midweek jackpot landed, a new jackpot of around £4.5 million will be up for grabs this Saturday 22 May. Of course, before we get to that game we first have the EuroMillions draw to enjoy on Friday 21 May, where a jackpot of around £12 million will be available to anyone who can match five main numbers and two Lucky Star numbers. UK players who play EuroMillions also get one chance to win £1,000,000 in the Millionaire Raffle game for every ticket purchased.

Also, we should remind everyone one more time that the new and improved Thunderball game now has an extra draw every Friday night, so if you fancy adding a chance of winning a top prize of £500,000 to the mix as we end the week, be sure to check out Thunderball when you buy lottery tickets online.

Congratulations to all of the latest midweek winners, and good luck to everyone who chooses to give themselves a chance of winning this weekend!
