Lotto Jackpot Shared by Four
Updated: Friday 10th October 2014
Four lottery tickets shared the Lotto jackpot on Saturday 7 August, proving once again that it is perfectly possible to beat odds of 1 in 13,983,816 and become a millionaire in a matter of moments. When the lottery draw began on Saturday night the owners of the four winning tickets were, like millions of other players, only hopeful about the possibility of succeeding, but less than a minute later those all-important numbers had been selected and the owners – whether they realised it or not – had joined the exclusive club of lottery winners. The jackpot was worth £4,471,116, so when that sum was split four ways it gave each ticket a value of £1,117,779.
The lottery results on Saturday 7 August were 13, 16, 22, 25, 31 and 39, and the Bonus Ball was 07. The number 07 had previously been highlighted as one of the six numbers that were “most overdue” to make an appearance, so although it wasn’t selected as a main number it was very useful to anyone who fancied landing a second tier prize. 37 players did just that by matching five of the main numbers and the Bonus Ball, and the prize for achieving this feat was £37,181 per winning ticket.
521 players matched five main numbers only to win a third-tier Lotto prize worth £1,650 each, and the prize values for those matching four or three main numbers only were £63 and £10, respectively. The Lotto jackpot has now been reset and the next draw this Wednesday 11 August will boast a top prize worth £2.4 million.
The EuroMillions jackpot on Friday 6 August was worth £12,502,500 and this was won by a single player. The EuroMillions results which made that win possible were 13, 25, 28, 29 and 42, and the two Lucky Star numbers were 04 and 05. UK players will also be interested to note that the Millionaire Raffle number last Friday was FVJ384492, so whoever was lucky enough to have that number on their ticket is now £1 million richer than they were previously.
The next EuroMillions jackpot on Friday 13 August will be worth around £12 million, so buy lottery tickets online for both games today and if you don’t win the Lotto jackpot on Wednesday you could still win even more on Friday. Good luck!Published: Monday 9th August 2010
