Lotto Jackpot Hit for Six
No fewer than six tickets won the Lotto jackpot on Saturday 28 January. The jackpot was worth £3,964,818 so each of the six winning tickets has landed an equal share worth £660,803. The numbers that saw the Lotto jackpot hit for six were 10, 12, 25, 28, 31 and 40, and the Bonus Ball – which wasn’t required for the jackpot itself – was number 01. With five out of six main numbers all falling in the ‘days of the month’ range of 01 to 31 it probably wasn’t surprising that the jackpot was won, but having six jackpot winners is still quite an eye-catching outcome!
636 tickets came very close to joining the jackpot-winning group, missing out by just one main number. 17 of those tickets managed to match the Bonus Ball too, which gave each of them a second-tier consolation prize of £71,761, but the other 619 tickets that matched five main numbers only had to settle for a third-tier prize of £1,231 each.
33,518 tickets won £50 each for matching four main numbers, and 572,470 tickets matching three main numbers won the fixed fifth-tier prize of £10 each. Because the Lotto jackpot was won (several times over, no less) the next Lotto game this Wednesday will start over with a brand new jackpot of around £2.2 million.
In stark contrast to what happened in the Lotto game, no ticket matched all of the numbers required to win the jackpot in the EuroMillions game on Friday 27 January. The EuroMillions results were 10, 13, 19, 39 and 44, with the numbers 02 and 06 appearing as the Lucky Star numbers.
Four tickets matched all five main numbers and one Lucky Star to win £304,497 each, and one of those winning tickets had been purchased in the UK. The total number of EuroMillions prizes won last Friday exceeded 3.04 million, and one player in this country won £1 million by matching the Millionaire Raffle number RCB782632.
All of this means that lottery players now have a EuroMillions double rollover jackpot of around £28 million to play for this Tuesday 31 January, followed by a midweek Lotto jackpot of around £2.2 million. Buy lottery tickets online today for both games and if the numbers are on your side you might just thank your Lucky Stars that you did!
