Lotto and Lotto Millionaire Raffle Results for Saturday 9th January 2016

Lotto and Lotto Millionaire Raffle Results for Saturday 9th January 2016

The biggest Lotto jackpot in history was up for grabs on Saturday 9th January and there was a remarkable rush to snap up tickets as the top prize had to be won on the night following last October’s rule changes. The record-breaking giveaway was a monumental £66 million in the end, and there were two lucky players who split the money to each win £33 million.

The numbers drawn were 26, 27, 46, 47, 52 and 58 with Bonus Ball 48.  Following 15 straight rollovers, the top prize would have rolled down to the next winning tier on Saturday if nobody had matched all six main numbers. This is because the changes made to the game in the autumn dictated that once the jackpot had passed £50 million, which happened on Wednesday night, the top prize must be given away in the following draw.

As it was, two participants finally managed to match all six main numbers to set a new Lotto record as well as transform their lives in an instant. Five ticket holders occupied the next winning tier after matching five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball to each snap up £64,426.

There were 259 players who matched five main numbers to each land £1,309, while the other prizes won spanned between a free Lotto Lucky Dip for matching two main numbers and £123 for matching four main numbers. In total, more than 4.6 million players picked up prizes across all six tiers, as the eagerly-anticipated draw produced great rewards for many participants.

The Lotto Millionaire Raffle created another millionaire after the code GOLD 5521 8325 was drawn as the top tier prize. Check out the Lotto Results section for the other 20 winning Lotto Raffle codes, each worth £20,000, as well as a full Lotto prize breakdown.

The Lotto jackpot, which had not previously been won since Saturday 14th November, will now reset to £2.4 million for the next draw on Wednesday night. If you reckon Saturday’s historic game will spark a winning sequence, you can pick up tickets by either visiting an authorised retailer anywhere in the UK or playing online. Best of luck!
