Lottery Thrills for the New Year!
Updated: Monday 7th April 2014
The New Year celebrations look set to go with a real bang this week because not only do we have a monster EuroMillions jackpot and special Millionaire Raffle game on New Year’s Eve, we also have a triple rollover Lotto jackpot and 200 Lotto Raffle prizes to play for on New Year’s Day. The EuroMillions jackpot will be worth around £81 million, the Millionaire Raffle game will award 25 prizes of £1 million each and the midweek Lotto jackpot has an estimated value of £11.1 million. If all of that doesn’t excite you then nothing will!
The main numbers drawn in the EuroMillions game on Friday 27 December were 01, 06, 13, 22 and 28, whilst the Lucky Stars were 05 and 10. The second tier saw 11 tickets win £108,519 each, and two of those tickets had been purchased by players in the UK, which is very encouraging. There were 28 tickets (five in the UK) that won £14,210 each by matching five main numbers only, and more than 3.31 million tickets won smaller prizes. The winning Millionaire Raffle number on Friday was FRF710292.
In the Lotto game on Saturday 28 December, the main numbers drawn were 16, 24, 25, 30, 34 and 45, and the Bonus Ball number was 49. We have already established that the jackpot rolled over, but the good news is that 5 tickets matched five of the main numbers plus the Bonus Ball to emerge from the game with a second tier prize worth £84,798 each. Over 271,000 other tickets won smaller prizes, and there were 150 Lotto Raffle winners of £20,000 each.
The fact that there have now been three Lotto rollovers in a row means that the Lotto Raffle game on Wednesday 1 January will award a prize of £20,000 to each of 200 winners, guaranteed. That alone is a good enough reason to buy a Lotto ticket or two, but with a jackpot of £11.1 million up for grabs in the main draw the Wednesday night game really isn’t to be missed.
Demand for tickets in both the EuroMillions and Lotto games is sure to be extremely high, so click here to enter your numbers online, good luck in the draws and have a Happy New Year!
