Lottery Jackpots Landed Outright
Yesterday we reminded you that there were two big midweek jackpots to be won in the UK and Irish Lotto games, and today we can tell you that both of those jackpots were landed outright. At just before 9pm last night, news broke that one ticket had matched the six main numbers required to win the Irish Lotto jackpot of €8,638,029. Then, a couple of hours later, it was announced that the same thing had happened in the UK Lotto game, where the jackpot was worth £8,255,522. Now players are wondering whether a single winner in the Friday EuroMillions game will complete the hat trick!
The UK Lotto results for Wednesday 29 August were 04, 07, 12, 28, 32 and 37, with the number 14 appearing as the Bonus Ball. In addition to the single ticket that scooped the £8.25 million jackpot, 13 lucky tickets matched five of the main numbers as well as the Bonus Ball to win £44,914 each. There were 435 tickets that won £1,044 at the third-tier level by matching five main numbers only, and over 420,000 other tickets matched four or three main numbers to win £42 or £10 each.
In the Irish Lotto game, the main numbers drawn were 12, 24, 26, 34, 35 and 42, and the number 44 was drawn as the Bonus Ball. Although one ticket managed to win the €8.63 million jackpot, no ticket matched five main numbers as well as the Bonus Ball, so there were no second-tier prize winners. 37 tickets matched five main numbers only to win a third-tier prize of €2,067 each, and 95 tickets won €202 each by matching four main numbers and the Bonus Ball. Over 38,000 tickets won smaller prizes by matching fewer numbers.
The Lotto draws last night were the last ones to take place this month, so anyone who wants to win a Lotto jackpot will have to wait for the draws taking place this Saturday 1 September. The next UK Lotto jackpot is expected to be worth around £4 million and the Irish Lotto has a guaranteed jackpot of €2 million.
Of course, the EuroMillions game this Friday 31 August gives players another chance to end the month on a winning note, with a rollover jackpot of around £21 million up for grabs. Click here to buy your tickets online and good luck with your numbers!
