Jackpot Winner Chooses Anonymity
Updated: Wednesday 20th April 2016
The winner of the EuroMillions jackpot on Tuesday 12 April, which had a final value of £51,818,873, has now made their claim and we can confirm that the prize has been paid out. We don’t know who that winner is, because they have chosen to remain anonymous, but it is a safe assumption that they will now be making plenty of big plans about what to do with their considerable fortune, and we wish them every success and happiness for the future.
EuroMillions players who were hoping to repeat the success story of the previous week in last night’s game were unfortunately disappointed, because no ticket was able to match all of the numbers needed to win the £16.89 million jackpot that was on offer. The EuroMillions results which eluded players on Tuesday 19 April were 11, 14, 15, 27 and 44, along with the Lucky Star numbers 02 and 07.
One ticket that had been purchased in France scooped the whole second tier prize fund, giving the lucky winner €955,091 for matching all five main numbers and one Lucky Star. Another five tickets (two in each of France and Portugal, and one in Spain) matched the five main numbers only to win a third tier prize of €63,672 each.
There were 59 winners at the fourth tier, and each of those won £1,923 by matching four main numbers and both of the Lucky Stars. There were over 1.75 million prizes won in total, and more than 400,000 of those were landed by players in this country, giving UK participants a collective payout of more than £1.67 million. The Millionaire Maker code on Tuesday, which was worth a completely separate prize of £1 million to the player with the ticket bearing the same, was RHW968483.
Two rollovers in a row mean that the EuroMillions game this Friday 22 April will now be worth an estimated £24 million. That should make for an exciting end to the working week, but in the meantime, lottery players have another chance to make their dreams come true in this evening’s midweek Lotto game, where a brand new jackpot is expected to be worth around £2.2 million.
The most overdue numbers for tonight’s Lotto game are 45, 03, 28, 46, 09 and 38, so do watch out for those, and also keep an eye open for the most common numbers, which are 40, 23, 38, 33, 30 and 25. We don’t know whether any of those numbers will help someone to land the second Lotto jackpot in as many games, but all will be revealed in a matter of hours.
