Jackpots Swell as Xmas Approaches

Jackpots Swell as Xmas Approaches
Updated: Thursday 17th December 2015

Christmas week is fast approaching, and the coming weekend will be the last one before the big day itself, so festive shopping trips will be on the agenda for many people across the country. If there was ever a perfect time for lottery players to win themselves an eight-figure jackpot, this would be it, and the good news is that the EuroMillions and Lotto games will be offering colossal multi-rollover prizes of around £60 million and £32.6 million, respectively, this Friday and Saturday.

The fact that the Lotto jackpot will be so large this Saturday obviously means that no player succeeded in landing the top prize in the midweek draw. The Lotto results on Wednesday 17 December were 10, 12, 35, 46, 48 and 57, and the Bonus Ball was 14. The jackpot, which rolled over for the ninth consecutive time, had a final value of £28,573,124.

There were no tickets that could match five main numbers as well as the Bonus Ball, so the second prize tier was also vacant of winners. On a more positive note, 41 tickets won their owners a third tier prize of £1,894 each by matching five main numbers only, and another 3,964 entries matched four main numbers to win £126 each.

The smallest cash prize of £25 went to each of 95,643 tickets that matched three main numbers, and there were 984,041 tickets that won a Lucky Dip entry for the next game by matching two main numbers. As usual, 20 Lotto Raffle tickets won £20,000 each, and one Lotto Millionaire Raffle ticket bearing the number PLUM 2825 9831 won its owner a cool £1 million.

We congratulate everyone who won a prize of any kind in the midweek Lotto game, and we are now hoping that someone will land themselves a jackpot in one of the lottery games coming up this Friday and Saturday. Who knows – it just might be the case that the jackpots will be won in both the £60 million EuroMillions and the £32.6 million Lotto draws, so keep your fingers crossed and one of the big winners could be you! Good luck and have a great weekend!
