Happy Birthday EuroMillions!

Happy Birthday EuroMillions!

The EuroMillions lottery game is five years old this Friday 13 February, 2009, and players in all nine participating countries will be keen to win a jackpot-sized share of the birthday prize fund. The odds of winning any prize are 1 in 24, so the odds of you buying a ticket and making a profit are good, and if you win the top prize you’ll probably think that all of your own birthdays will have come at once!

The odds of winning that top prize are 1 in 76,275,360. That might sound like a long shot, but there have been plenty of people over the last five years who have proved that winning the jackpot is perfectly possible.

Think of Angela Kelly who won £35.4 million in August 2007 and became the biggest individual National Lottery prize winner in Britain. Or take inspiration from Dolores McNamara who won £125 million in July 2005 and is still the biggest individual EuroMillions winner of all time.

Although five years isn’t a very long time in lottery terms, EuroMillions has achieved an awful lot since it was launched in on Friday 13 February, 2004. As well as becoming the most popular regular lottery game in Europe, it is also one of the biggest lottery games in the world. It’s success has also inspired the planning of a brand new World Lottery Draw.

Players who have not yet tried their hand at the EuroMillions game will find that it’s as easy as any other lottery. All you have to do is pick five main numbers from 1 to 50 and two Lucky Star numbers from 1 to 9. Match all seven numbers and you win the jackpot. And of course, you can play the EuroMillions lottery online just as easily as you play other games online!

Lottery.co.uk offers a big Happy Birthday! to EuroMillions and an equally big Good Luck! to everyone who celebrates by taking part in the next draw.
