Great Start for Win Wednesdays

Great Start for Win Wednesdays

Last night saw the first ever Health Lottery Win Wednesdays draw take place, and we are pleased to say that it got off to a great start with three tickets matching all five numbers to win the top prize of £100,000 each. The draw was broadcast on Channel 5 at 9:55pm (just like the Saturday draw) and presented by Jenny Powell. The Health Lottery results for Wednesday 17 October were 01, 02, 05, 08 and 10, and over 8,000 tickets matched four or three numbers to win a consolation prize of £250 or £20 each.

Less than 40 minutes after the Win Wednesdays broadcast ended, the National Lottery show began over on BBC One. As always, the Thunderball draw took place first, and the main numbers last night were 02, 09, 16, 31 and 33, with the number 11 being selected as the Thunderball itself. No ticket matched all of those numbers, so there was no winner of the £500,000 top prize, but three tickets matched the five main numbers only to win £5,000 each. Another 152,074 tickets picked up a smaller prize of up to £250 each by matching fewer numbers.

Next up was the highlight of the evening, which was the Lotto draw. The estimated value of the jackpot had been £2.2 million, but that figure turned out to be around 10% too optimistic because the actual value of the jackpot last night was £1,952,964. The Lotto results were 04, 07, 19, 21, 39 and 49, and the Bonus Ball number was 26.

One ticket matched all six Lotto numbers to win the jackpot outright, so right now somebody is enjoying their first whole day as a millionaire lottery winner. Whether they realise it or not at this point in time depends on whether they have already checked their numbers.

10 tickets matched five of the main numbers as well as the Bonus Ball to win a second-tier prize of £60,091 each, and 376 tickets won £998 each by matching five main numbers only. 19,881 tickets matched four main numbers to win £41 each and 329,309 tickets won the smallest possible Lotto prize of £10 each by matching three main numbers.

Congratulations to everyone who won a lottery prize in any of the games that took place last night, and for those who didn’t win big, don’t despair. There is still a quintuple rollover jackpot worth around £54 million to play for in the EuroMillions game this Friday, so click here to enter your numbers and you could still get rich in time for the weekend!
