French Mega Jackpot Winner

French Mega Jackpot Winner

One lucky EuroMillions player in France scooped the Mega Jackpot on Friday 18 September, 2009. The Mega Jackpot had been estimated to be worth around £85 million, but a last-minute rush for tickets resulted in the final jackpot figure being even higher, and the French EuroMillions winner is now £90,740,000 richer than they were before! The winning main numbers were 6, 16, 30, 38 and 41, and the Lucky Star numbers were 2 and 4.

The odds of landing the Mega Jackpot last Friday were 1 in 76,275,360, but the success of the winner in France once again proves that hitting the right lottery results really can be done – you just have to be in the right place at the right time with the right numbers! Now that the Mega Jackpot has been won, the regular jackpot has been reset and you can have a go at winning around £13 million this Friday 25 September.

No details of the lottery winner in France have yet been released, and there are no guarantees that any such details will ever be forthcoming. Every EuroMillions player has the right to decide against going public, and for those players who win particularly large jackpots (which would obviously include this latest Mega Jackpot of £90 million) it can be a good idea to do so. After all, if you won £90 million would you rather spend your time shopping or opening sacks full of begging letters? We thought so.

Although the Mega Jackpot wasn’t won by a player in the UK this time, plenty of other EuroMillions prizes were won by Brits last Friday. Three lucky players in the UK matched five main numbers and one of the two Lucky Star numbers to win £360,223 each. Another five Brits matched the five main numbers only and won £59,183 each. All told, over 3.2 million EuroMillions players in the UK won more than £7.66 million between them, which can’t be bad when you consider that they missed the jackpot itself.

Those of you who didn’t manage to win anything more than maybe a minor prize will no doubt be keen to have another go. If that’s the case, you can already buy lottery tickets online for the next EuroMillions draw this Friday 25 September. Will this week see a UK player land the jackpot? Play the game and you’ll soon find out!
