France Wins EuroMillions Jackpot!
One very lucky lottery player in France will be looking forward to a particularly joyeux Noël this year after managing to match all seven numbers drawn in last night's EuroMillions game. The jackpot for the game was worth €72,971,665, which would have been £57,837,341 had someone in the UK won it instead. The numbers that gave that prize to the French ticket – and brought an end to a sequence of six consecutive rollovers – were 03, 15, 25, 44 and 49, along with the Lucky Star numbers 01 and 09. The jackpot in the next game this Friday will be worth around £11 million.
Although no UK player succeeded at the very highest level last night, one of three tickets that matched five main numbers and one Lucky Star had been bought in this country. Each of those winning tickets at the second tier won £315,219, but surprisingly there were no winners to be found in any country at the third prize tier.
The fourth tier saw 48 tickets win £9,850 each by matching four main numbers and both of the Lucky Stars, and there were more than 2.11 million prizes landed at the lower consolation levels. Here in the UK, the Millionaire Maker code VFD352386 made another EuroMillions participant £1 million richer, so congratulations to the player concerned and, indeed, to all of the prize winners in the main game.
Regular readers will know that we often highlight the most overdue numbers according to our comprehensive lottery statistics database. We are pleased to report that there were two such numbers drawn on Tuesday, and those were the main number 44 and the Lucky Star number 09.
We will have to wait until Friday to find out whether or not the EuroMillions game can deliver two jackpot wins in a row, but in the meantime UK lottery players have a jackpot of around £2.1 million to pursue in the midweek Lotto draw. The most overdue numbers for that game are 45, 37, 16, 12, 46 and 48, and we will be watching carefully to see if any of those help someone to land the top prize this evening. Click here to play the midweek Lotto game online and this time tomorrow you just might be celebrating a jackpot win if your own!
