Football Fans Score Lotto Jackpot

Football Fans Score Lotto Jackpot

A couple of keen football fans from Musselburgh, Scotland are cheering themselves on after matching six main numbers in the Lotto game on Saturday 19 June. Brian and Ann Sharp, who both love Hearts FC, have three adult children and they played seven lottery entries for the game. Astonishingly, all seven entries won a prize, and one of them just happened to be the Lotto jackpot! The jackpot for that particular Lotto game was worth £8,134,820, but there were four jackpot-winning tickets in all so each of the lottery winners received a share worth £2,033,705.

Ann discovered the win when watching the Lotto draw take place live on television. She was home alone at the time and that gave the jackpot-winning experience a dream-like quality that we think other jackpot winners would probably be very familiar with.

“I felt like I was in a big bubble,” Ann said as she described the moment when she realised they had won the jackpot. “I kept pinching myself because I thought I was dreaming. I called Brian and my voice was shaking so he knew I wasn’t joking.”

Brian, who was working at his job as an electrician when he received the call, takes up the story from there. “I could tell from Ann’s voice that there was something going on,” he said. “I tried to remain calm and quickly went online to check the numbers. I immediately phoned Camelot who confirmed our win and then I broke the news to Ann. I left work early to let the news sink in and then we sat up all night with the family, planning our next move.”

Brian and Ann told their three children about the win on the phone, and although each of them were busy doing other things at the time, they immediately returned home to help their parents celebrate.

“We haven’t decided what we are going to do with our winnings yet,” Brian admitted. “We are definitely planning to buy a new house and since it’s our Silver Wedding anniversary later in the year we hope to go on a special holiday, maybe to Australia or America. We are still waiting on the wish list from the kids so who knows what that will involve.”

The next Lotto jackpot this Wednesday 30 June will be worth around £2.4 million, and there is a £12 million jackpot up for grabs in the EuroMillions game this Friday 2 July, so buy lottery tickets online today and you could score yourself a life-changing win before the week is out!
