Five Win Quadruple Rollover Jackpot

Five Win Quadruple Rollover Jackpot
Updated: Thursday 10th April 2014

September ended on a fantastically high note for the owners of five lucky Lotto tickets that shared the first ever quadruple rollover jackpot on Saturday night. The jackpot prize pool was worth £19,549,950 by the time the draw came around, so each of the five winners is now a millionaire almost four times over, enjoying a personal share of the fortune worth £3,909,990. The Lotto results that made Saturday 29 September so profitable for the five players were 01, 06, 07, 08, 25 and 42, and the Bonus Ball was the number 39.

13 tickets weren’t quite as lucky as those at the top of the Lotto ladder, but still managed to win £114,540 each by matching five of the main numbers as well as the Bonus Ball number. 811 tickets matched five main numbers only to win £1,147 each, and more than 836,000 other tickets won smaller prizes of £45 or £10 each by matching four or three main numbers.

We have already said that this was the first quadruple rollover jackpot that the Lotto game has ever offered, and when you consider the fact that the game was launched in November 1994 it has been some time in coming! Of course, one of the main reasons why we have had to wait almost 18 years for this jackpot is that the odds of winning the top prize are an attractive 1 in 13.98 million, which is far better for players than the odds of winning a jackpot in many other lottery games. Whether we have to wait another 18 years for the second Lotto quadruple rollover jackpot to come around is something that only time will tell.

Of course, the Lotto quadruple rollover jackpot wasn’t the only thing that excited players over the last few days, because on Friday there was a guaranteed €100 million jackpot up for grabs in the EuroMillions game. The main numbers drawn in that game were 20, 23, 26, 30 and 33, and the Lucky Star numbers were 06 and 09. Just one ticket managed to match all of those numbers to scoop the jackpot in its entirety, and we can tell you that the winning ticket was purchased by a player in Spain.

18 tickets matched all five main numbers and one Lucky Star to win £116,345 each, and 31 tickets won £22,518 each by matching the five main numbers only. There were more than 4.84 million tickets that won a EuroMillions prize of some kind on Friday, but the biggest winner as far as UK participants were concerned was the person who won £1 million by matching the Millionaire Raffle number ZLJ501773.

Congratulations to everyone who won a lottery prize in recent days, and especially to the jackpot winners in the Lotto and EuroMillions games. Now the jackpots in both of those games have been reset, so you can play for a new EuroMillions jackpot of around £11 million this Tuesday and a Lotto jackpot of around £2.2 million on Wednesday.
