Five Win a Lotto Jackpot
Updated: Thursday 24th April 2014
Five Win a Lotto Jackpot might sound like the title of a Famous Five novel by Enid Blyton novel, but it is really just an accurate description of what happened in the Lotto draw on Saturday 11 December. Five tickets matched all six main numbers to land an equal share of the £4.63 million jackpot, giving each winning ticket a value of £927,429. The lottery results which created these five brand new lottery winners were 11, 15, 24, 33, 43 and 49. The Bonus Ball (which was only needed by second-tier prize winners) was 27.
There were 14 second-tier prize winners and each of those won £101,915 by beating odds of 1 in 2,330,636 to match five of the six main numbers and the Bonus Ball. 441 National Lottery players matched five main numbers only to win a third-tier prize of £2,022 each, and over 527,000 other players each won £75 or £10 for matching four or three main numbers, respectively.
The next Lotto jackpot this Wednesday 15 December will be worth around £2.4 million, and anyone who wants to take our lottery statistics into account when making their entries will be interested to note that the most overdue Lotto numbers right now are 01, 09, 32, 02, 13 and 28.
The rollover jackpot in the EuroMillions game last Friday was a lot more elusive than the Lotto jackpot, with no player matching all five main numbers and both Lucky Stars. The EuroMillions results were 02, 03, 10, 33 and 46, and the Lucky Stars were 07 and 08. Although the jackpot was not won, four players did match the five main numbers and one of the two Lucky Stars to land a second-tier prize of £555,111 each.
With no rollover jackpot winner in the EuroMillions game last week, there will now be a double rollover jackpot of around £36 million to play for this Friday 17 December. Add in the chance to win a Millionaire Raffle prize of £1 million and we think that buying an extra ticket or two could be very worthwhile. If you agree then buy lottery tickets online for both the Lotto and EuroMillions games and good luck!Published: Monday 13th December 2010
