Five Tickets Win EuroMillions Jackpot
The triple rollover EuroMillions jackpot last Friday was worth £32,837,521, and that amount will be shared between five winning tickets, three of which were purchased right here in the UK. This is only the third time that there have been five jackpot winners in a single draw since the game was launched in 2004, and it hasn’t happened since Friday 4th February 2011, when the jackpot was worth £24,368,199.
Players who are wondering why there were so many winners on Friday might find a clue in the numbers that were drawn. The main numbers which appeared on Friday 2nd September were 08, 16, 32, 40 and 50, and the Lucky Star numbers were 02 and 11. That means all five main numbers were even, and four of the five main numbers were multiples of eight, so anyone who focused on those types of numbers will have enjoyed a great head start on the jackpot.
Each of the five winning tickets is now worth £6,567,504, and nine tickets that matched all five main numbers plus one of the Lucky Stars are worth £105,444 each. There were 21 tickets which won £15,063 each by matching the five main numbers only, and the total number of prizes landed on Friday was 2,064,695. The total amount of cash won by players in the UK was £22,572,810, and the Millionaire Maker code, which was worth £1 million to the owner of the matching ticket, was NVJ898067.
There are now just six EuroMillions draws to go until the exciting new changes come into play (see our EuroMillions Changes article for more information) and the jackpot for the next game this Tuesday 6 September will be worth an estimated £12 million. The most overdue numbers as we head towards that draw are 47, 20, 04, 17 and 39, and the most overdue Lucky Stars are 01 and 03.
