EuroMillions Rolls as Lotto is Shared
Updated: Wednesday 9th April 2014
The jackpots in the EuroMillions and Lotto games last Friday and Saturday illustrated perfectly how jackpots have the dichotomous potential to be frustratingly elusive or perfectly winnable. No ticket matched all seven numbers drawn in the EuroMillions game and so the jackpot rolled over to create a Tuesday top prize that is estimated to be worth around £17 million. Then, on Saturday, two tickets matched all of the numbers required to land the Lotto jackpot, with each winner securing an equal share worth £2,068,178.
The EuroMillions results on Friday 16 November were 10, 15, 19, 23 and 41, and the Lucky Stars were 02 and 09. Eight tickets matched all five of the main numbers and one of the Lucky Stars to win a second-tier prize of £160,871 each, so the night wasn’t a complete loss for wealth-seekers by any means. 13 tickets matched five main numbers only to win £32,999 each and another 87 tickets won £2,465 each by matching four main numbers and both of the Lucky Stars. There were more than 3.18 million prizes won in total, and here in the UK one player won £1 million by matching the Millionaire Raffle number RSV803743.
In the Lotto game on Saturday 17 November the main numbers drawn were 17, 19, 20, 21, 25 and 26, and the Bonus Ball number was 14. In addition to the two winners at the jackpot level, 16 tickets won a second-tier prize of £79,545 each by matching five of the main numbers as well as the Bonus Ball. 478 tickets matched five main numbers only to win £1,664 each, and another 524,405 tickets won either £65 or £10 each by matching four or three main numbers. The next Lotto jackpot this Wednesday will be worth around £2.2 million.
