EuroMillions Rollover This Friday!
Updated: Monday 20th July 2015
A EuroMillions rollover jackpot worth around £26 million will be up for grabs this Friday 9 October, 2009, and if you look at last Friday’s results you will quickly see why. Three of the five main numbers in the last draw were consecutive numbers, and although the odds of that happening are exactly the same as the odds of any other selection of numbers appearing, most players tend to avoid such combinations.
Avoiding consecutive numbers when making EuroMillions selections might be commonplace, but it doesn’t alter the odds of winning one iota. Technically, the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 and Lucky Stars 6 and 7 have just as much chance of being drawn as any other combination – it just appears less likely because the consecutive numbers form a pattern that we all recognise as being more ‘meaningful’ than a more random-looking selection.
With so many players tending to avoid including consecutive numbers in their lottery selections, it isn’t really surprising that the EuroMillions jackpot wasn’t won last week. The good news is that it gives us a £26 million rollover jackpot to play for this Friday. Will we see yet more consecutive numbers coming up, or will you get lucky with your own selection of numbers? The odds of any set of numbers coming up are always the same, so buy your lottery tickets online and you could well be the next EuroMillions jackpot winner!
As far as the UK lottery is concerned, the lottery results on Saturday 3 October were 14, 21, 23, 32, 36 and 46. The bonus ball was number 17. Two lucky players matched all six main numbers to share the £4,860,682 jackpot between them. That makes each player £2,430,341 richer, and will no doubt lead to the winners indulging in some particularly extravagant Christmas shopping this year!
With the Lotto jackpot having been won last Saturday, the jackpot for the next Lotto draw this Wednesday has been reset and will be worth around £2.4 million. If you like using lottery statistics to help you pick your numbers then we can tell you that the most overdue Lotto numbers right now are 42, 38, 13, 16, 49 and 9.
Whether you choose to go for the £2.4 million Lotto jackpot on Wednesday, for the £26 million EuroMillions jackpot on Friday, or for both, we wish you the very best of lottery luck!Published: Monday 5th October 2009
