Euromillions 100 Millionaires Ticket Sales Booming

Euromillions 100 Millionaires Ticket Sales Booming
Updated: Tuesday 22nd April 2014

UK players of the Euromillions are being warned to buy their Euromillions tickets in plenty of time for the draw which will take place tomorrow, Friday, 27th July 2012. Ticket sales are anticipated to be amongst the highest ever seen for a UK special draw, with some estimates suggesting ticket sales may be up by 300%. This is thanks to the special one off 100 UK Millionaires Raffle, which will see 100 ticket holders being made an instant millionaire, plus the ten times rolled over Euromillions jackpot, currently estimated to be €140 / £105 million.

Of course, this is great news for the Good Causes fund, which stands to receive 28% of all revenue generated by the Euromillions ticket sales. One of the reasons the 100 Millionaire’s draw was put on was to thank loyal players for their participation in the lottery, and to celebrate the opening ceremony of the Olympics the revenue helped fund. Lottery revenue has accounted for an immense £2.2 billion of the funding to date, so what better way to thank lottery players than by making more winners?

Another reason was to enter the Guinness Book of World Records for a raffle which made the highest number of millionaires in one night. Interestingly enough, this will be smashing their own previous record set on Christmas Eve 2010, when 25 millionaires were made.

As ticket sales are anticipated to skyrocket on Friday, players are strongly advised to buy their tickets for the Euromillions today to avoid any hold ups. It is expected that up to 800 tickets per second could be sold on Friday itself, and to help retailers, Euromillions have shipped out an extra 20 million play slips, and distributed a total of an extra 8 million meters of ticket roll.

Don’t forget, you can also buy your tickets online if you are stuck in the office all day today, which will save you queuing up in the shops after work tonight! So if you are planning on playing, get your tickets early, then sit back, watch the Olympic Ceremony on Friday and don’t forget to watch the draw!
