Dream Car for Lottery Winner
Updated: Thursday 24th April 2014
A National Lottery player who won £108,142 by matching five main numbers and the Bonus Ball in the Lotto game on Wednesday 29 September intends to buy himself the car of his dreams for his birthday. Andrew Carr, who is currently 49, plays the lottery online and was therefore notified by email that his entry had won a prize. Andrew assumed it was a £10 prize for matching three main numbers, so he forwarded it to his wife Caroline at work, but when Caroline checked the numbers she discovered that he hadn’t won £10 at all – he’d won a prize more than ten thousand times bigger!
“I couldn’t believe it when Caroline called me to tell me how much we’d won,” Andrew said afterwards. “I thought she’d misread it at first and it’s still not sunk in! I turn 50 next year and Caroline has been asking me ages what I want. I’ve always said a TVR as that is my ultimate dream car, but Caroline has always said we can’t afford one.”
That might have been the case before, but now that Andrew is a sizeable lottery winner he suddenly has enough cash to make the purchase he has always wanted to make. The lottery results for the draw that made him £108,142 richer were 21, 25, 29, 32, 38 and 44, and the Bonus Ball was number 14.
“Now we’ve won the Lotto we can splash out a bit and I can have the birthday present I’ve always dreamed of,” he said. “I’ve already been busy looking on the internet to see what’s out there and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of my very own TVR!”
Lottery players who share Andrew’s love of fast cars – or who would like to make any other expensive purchases – have several great chances to win big money this week. The Lotto jackpot rolled over last Saturday so the jackpot this Wednesday 20 October will be worth £7.2 million. Then, on Friday 22 October, there is a EuroMillions rollover jackpot of £25 million to play for as well as the Millionaire Raffle prize of £1 million.
