Double Excitement for Lottery Players

Double Excitement for Lottery Players
Updated: Monday 20th July 2015

Lottery players can look forward to a double helping of excitement this week because both the EuroMillions and Lotto games will offer double rollover jackpots! The EuroMillions draw on Tuesday 17th September boasts a top prize that is expected to be worth around £28 million, and then on Wednesday 18th September the midweek Lotto game will give us the chance to win a jackpot of around £8.5 million. This obviously means that rollovers occurred in both of the games played last Friday and Saturday, so let’s take a closer look at exactly what happened…

The main numbers drawn in the EuroMillions game on Friday were 04, 06, 14, 27 and 33, and the Lucky Star numbers were 05 and 10. We have already established that there were no jackpot winners, but there were still millions of players with something to celebrate. Seven participants matched all five main numbers as well as one Lucky Star number to win a second tier prize of £188,016 each, and two of those winning players had purchased their tickets in the UK.

There were 12 tickets that matched the five main numbers without either Lucky Star to land a third tier prize of £36,558 each, and 52 other tickets won £4,218 each by matching four main numbers and both of the Lucky Stars. There were 3,375,353 prizes won in total, and UK players collectively won £3,344,185, so Friday the 13th wasn’t a bad night at all!

The Lotto results on Saturday were 18, 20, 24, 30, 39 and 48, and the Bonus Ball was 46. The jackpot that rolled over was worth £6.3 million, beating the official estimate by more than £400,000, which is some indication of how strong ticket sales were for the game. Six tickets matched five of the main numbers plus the Bonus Ball number to win a second tier prize worth £216,464, and there were 300 tickets that matched five main numbers only to win £2,705 each at the third tier. Another 413,635 tickets won £93 or £10 each by matching four or three main numbers.

Whilst the weekend was definitely a thriller for those players who were lucky enough to win any of the major consolation prizes that we have mentioned, the games coming up in the next few days should prove to be even more exciting. Visit this page to enter your numbers online and you could soon be celebrating a double rollover jackpot win! Good luck!
