Deserving Lotto winners
A couple from Blackburn are still getting over the shock from scooping a life-changing £3.5 million Lotto jackpot last Saturday night, when the Lotto rollover jackpot was won by two ticket holders, who each shared the £7.06 million rollover jackpot. The Lotto jackpot winners are well known in the area for their community work and for being part of the local church, with many locals saying that they’re ‘deserving Lotto winners’.
Geoff and Hillary Bennette from Rishton in Lancashire matched all six Lotto numbers during the draw on Saturday 18th June, which had a £ 7.06 million to play for. Their Lotto ticket was one of two that had the correct six numbers on it, changing the couple’s life in an instant. The lottery numbers to come out during the draw were; 3, 8, 10, 35, 38 and 39, with the Bonus Ball being drawn as 31.
When speaking about the Lotto jackpot win to a local newspaper, Mr Bennette said that he plans to buy a new Mini Cooper as a mini was the very first car that he owned back when he was 17, way before the Lotto was even dreamed up. The couple also plan to spend their Lotto winnings taking trips around the world and possibly moving to a ‘nice little market town near the sea’.
Mr Bennette has recently retired, following a long career in the leisure and tourism at Bolton Council plus he was a governor for the local primary school for over 20 years. Mr Bennette’s wife, Hillary is a teacher in a local nursery school and she intends to continue working, despite winning a big enough Lotto jackpot to easily retire on.
