December Jackpots Begin to Snowball
Updated: Tuesday 9th December 2014
As meteorologists across the UK predict colder weather coming in from the West, it seems only fitting that both of the big lottery jackpots over the weekend eluded players and snowballed to even bigger sums. That gives lottery fans the chance to win themselves two massive jackpots in the midweek games. On Tuesday the EuroMillions game will offer a rollover jackpot with an estimated value of £17 million after no player proved able to win the top prize last Friday. Then, on Wednesday, the Lotto game will boast a double rollover jackpot worth around £7.7 million.
The EuroMillions results that scuppered the plans of jackpot-seekers on Friday 5 December were 05, 08, 37, 47 and 48, along with the Lucky Star numbers 02 and 03. There were two tickets that matched all five main numbers and one of the Lucky Stars to win €758,715 each, and we quote that figure in Euros because neither one of them had been purchased in the UK. It was a very different story at the third tier, however, because three of the four tickets that matched five main numbers only had been bought by players in the UK, and each of those won £91,646.
There were 36 tickets that matched four main numbers and both Lucky Stars to win £5,091 each at the fourth prize tier, and another 821 tickets won £195 each by matching four main numbers and one Lucky Star. The total number of consolation prizes won was 2,236,061, and in the UK one player won a separate Millionaire Maker prize of £1 million by matching the code WFP477150.
EuroMillions players who would like to include one or more of the most overdue numbers on their tickets for the next game this Tuesday should be considering the main numbers 43, 16, 11, 22 and 39, as well as the Lucky Star numbers 07 and 08. Whatever numbers you choose to play, head this way to buy your tickets online and you could soon be enjoying a wintry avalanche of cash!
