December Delivers Lotto Double Rollover
Updated: Tuesday 8th April 2014
December has arrived, and lottery players will be pleased to hear that the most festive month of the year will get off to a particularly exciting start thanks to a double rollover jackpot being up for grabs in the Lotto game this Wednesday. The jackpot itself will have an estimated value of £8.3 million, and the two previous jackpot rollovers means that there will also be 150 guaranteed winners of £20,000 each in the Lotto Raffle game. Get lucky in either of those games and Christmas really will come early this year!
The Lotto results on Saturday 30 November were 09, 16, 19, 31, 36 and 37, with the number 15 being drawn as the Bonus Ball. We have already established that no player won the £6.5 million jackpot that was on offer, so the biggest winners were found at the second prize tier, where three tickets matched five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball to win a very handy £136,469 each.
There were 242 tickets that matched five main numbers in the Saturday night Lotto game to win their owners £1,436 each, and another 14,298 tickets matched four main numbers to pick up a prize of £128 each. The smallest possible Lotto prize of £25 went to each of 291,858 tickets that matched three main numbers. Because the Saturday game boasted a single rollover jackpot, there were 100 Lotto Raffle winners of £20,000 each.
In the Health Lottery game on Saturday, the main numbers drawn were 05, 09, 17, 30 and 39, and the Bonus Ball was 01. A single ticket matched all five main numbers to land the top prize of £100,000, and more than 107,000 tickets won a consolation prize of some kind. Health Lottery players who match two main numbers are currently being rewarded with a free Quick Pick ticket for the next draw, but that will only happen for one more game, so be sure to participate this Wednesday if you want to take advantage of the promotion.
All of the above results came one day after a single ticket landed a EuroMillions jackpot worth £12,429,000. The winning ticket had been purchased in the UK, and the numbers that made it happen on Friday 29 November were 02, 07, 10, 23 and 43, along with the Lucky Star numbers 04 and 07. There were five tickets that matched all five main numbers and one Lucky Star to secure a second-tier prize of £207,924 each, and more than 2.76 million prizes were won in total.
Well done to everyone who won a prize of any kind in the games that took place last Friday and Saturday, and good luck to those of you who will be playing for big money in the week ahead. Head this way to buy your tickets online and keep your fingers crossed for an early visit from Santa!
