Christmas Jackpots Landed!
The last weekend before Christmas produced jackpot winners in both the Lotto and EuroMillions games. The EuroMillions triple rollover jackpot of £52,883,496 was won by a single player, but because the winning ticket was not purchased in the UK, no further details about that win are yet available. The Lotto jackpot of £5,014,788 was won by two ticket-holders, giving each one a pre-Christmas windfall of £2,507,394.
The EuroMillions results for last Friday 18 December were 14, 30, 32, 35 and 49, and the two Lucky Stars were 03 and 08. Although the massive EuroMillions jackpot eluded players in the UK, the associated Millionaire Raffle game did of course make one player £1,000,000 richer with the winning number QDF124702.
Three EuroMillions players in the UK also managed to match five main EuroMillions numbers and one of the Luck Star numbers to win £867,566 each. Another 11 players – all in the UK – matched the five main numbers only to each win a third tier prize worth £67,145.80.
As far as the Lotto game was concerned, the lottery results on Saturday 19 December were 01, 20, 28, 33, 40 and 45, and the Bonus Ball was number 35. In addition to the two players who matched all six main numbers to share the jackpot, five players matched five of the main numbers and the Bonus Ball to win £308,602 each. Another 349 players matched five main numbers only and won £2,763 each, which is still a very nice amount to receive at this time of year.
Now that both the Lotto and EuroMillions jackpots have been won, the top prizes have been reset for the next big winners. The Lotto jackpot for this Wednesday 23 December will be worth around £2.4 million and the EuroMillions jackpot for Friday 25 December will be worth around £13 million. That means there are still a few chances for you to celebrate a jackpot win this festive season, so buy lottery tickets online today if you want to take advantage of them!Monday 21st December 2009
