Cattery Plans for Raffle Winners
A couple who won one of the 25 Millionaire Raffle prizes in the special draw on New Year's Day now plan to use their wealth to start a cattery and boarding kennel business. James and Sue Schofield, who live in Rhoswiel in Oswestry, discovered their win in the very early hours of New Year's Day after celebrating the arrival of 2013 with friends. James had his phone on him so he decided to check their lottery numbers on the spot. Seconds later, he realised that the Millionaire Raffle number on their ticket had won them £1 million!
When James delivered the news to Sue, she wasn’t believing a word of it. ‘The last time I won it was £2.50 and I had jokingly announced to Sue that we’d won the Lottery,‘ James explained. ‘I said exactly the same thing this time but, as Sue thought I was being silly, she didn’t believe me. I told her to hold on to the ticket as I shouted out the numbers and letters from the Raffle code.’
That was when the double checking began. The couple used both of their phones and the internet to confirm that they hadn’t made a mistake, then called the lottery organiser for a final confirmation. Their Millionaire Raffle number was indeed a winner, but they had to wait until 9am the next morning to officially make their claim.
As well as wanting to start a new business with a cattery and boarding kennels, the couple intend to buy themselves a couple of new cars (James wants a Range Rover and Sue wants an Audi A5) as well as a new touring caravan.
We congratulate the Schofield’s on their dream start to the New Year and wish them a very successful 2013 as they set about establishing their business. We also wish the best of luck to everyone who has a go at winning the EuroMillions double-rollover jackpot of £27 million this Friday 11 January. Click here to buy your tickets and maybe you too will soon be looking forward to the best year of your life!
