Brits Fare Best in EuroMillions Lottery
There was no double-rollover jackpot winner in the EuroMillions game on Tuesday 22 January, 2013, but there were two winners at the next highest prize level, and both of them were British! Take into consideration a third UK player who managed to win £1,000,000 in the Millionaire Raffle game and it is no exaggeration to say that, of all EuroMillions lottery players hoping to win big last night, Brits fared best! The EuroMillions results that gave Britain good reason to be cheerful were 01, 10, 44, 45 and 48, along with the Lucky Star numbers 01 and 04.
The second-tier prize for the two British tickets that succeeded in matching all five main numbers and one Lucky Star was worth £389,124 each, so well done to the winners concerned. Five tickets matched five main numbers without either of the Lucky Stars to win a third-tier prize worth £51,883 each, and 33 tickets won £3,930 each by matching four main numbers and both Lucky Stars.
There were 633 winning tickets at the fifth-tier level, and they won £179 each by matching four main numbers and one of the Lucky Stars. A prize of £101 was won by each of the 1,122 tickets that matched four main numbers only, and the total number of prizes won in the EuroMillions game as a whole was 1,576,980. Brits scooped more than £2.9 million in EuroMillions prize money overall, and that isn’t including the £1 million won in the Millionaire Raffle game with the number NBV801959.
The EuroMillions jackpot that rolled over last night had a final value of £27.77 million, so there will be a triple-rollover jackpot of around £37 million to play for this Friday 25 January. The cost of tickets and the odds of winning will of course be exactly the same as they are in a ‘standard jackpot’ game, so those of you who like to get maximum bang for your buck might want to play an extra line or two to make the most of the opportunity.
In the meantime, we shouldn’t forget that the midweek Lotto game takes place tonight (Wednesday 23 January) with an estimated jackpot of around £2.1 million. The most overdue Lotto numbers right now are 46, 01, 22, 23, 18 and 29, so let’s see if any of those help someone to win big this evening. Visit this page to buy your tickets online and good luck!
