British Lottery Ticket Wins Big!
A lottery ticket purchased right here in the UK matched all seven numbers that were drawn in the first EuroMillions game of the week to win a double rollover jackpot worth £22,464,582. The EuroMillions results responsible for this great British win on Tuesday 8 September were 14, 16, 39, 40 and 42, and the Lucky Star numbers were 01 and 04. Now that the jackpot has been landed, the nation will wait patiently to see if the winner chooses to go public or elects instead to preserve their anonymity.
There were three tickets that matched all five main numbers plus one of the Lucky Star numbers to win a second tier prize worth £250,492, and we can confirm that one of those entries had also been purchased in the UK. Another four tickets – two belonging to players in this country – won £62,623 each by matching the five main numbers only.
The fourth tier awarded a prize of £4,174 to each of 30 tickets that successfully matched four of the main numbers and both of the Lucky Stars. The total number of prizes won was 1,414,591, and the combined amount of cash won by UK players – including the jackpot winner – was £24,957,177. An additional prize of £1,000,000 was landed by the UK player who matched the Millionaire Maker code QJN180474, and the jackpot in the next EuroMillions game this Friday will be worth around £10 million.
We will look forward to seeing if anyone can get lucky enough to give the UK back-to-back jackpot wins in the EuroMillions game this Friday, but in the meantime there is a brand new jackpot of around £2 million to play for in the midweek Lotto game. Five of the last seven Lotto games have surrendered their jackpots to one or more winners, so players will be hoping for more of the same this evening. For those of you who like to follow our Lotto Statistics, the most overdue numbers right now are 11, 34, 37, 13, 35 and 32, so do watch out for those.
We congratulate the UK lottery player who won the EuroMillions jackpot last night, and we now wish the very best of luck to everyone who will be trying to win the £2 million up for grabs in tonight’s Lotto game. Think positive and do remember to let us know if you are lucky enough to become the next big winner!Published: Wednesday 9th September 2015
