Brand New Year, Brand New Jackpot!
Happy New Year! 2015 has finally arrived, and lottery players who didn't win big last year now have a chance to start over and hope for bigger and better things from the 52 weeks that are ahead of us. The first major opportunity to change your financial life forever comes in the EuroMillions game this Friday 2 January, where the brand New Year will be very appropriately accompanied by a brand new jackpot worth around £11 million. And, as if that wasn’t exciting enough, the Millionaire Maker game on the same night will also create a guaranteed UK winner of £1 million.
The main numbers drawn in the last Lotto game of 2014 on Wednesday 31 December were 12, 18, 22, 37, 38 and 49, and the Bonus Ball was 35. A rollover in the previous game last Saturday helped the jackpot to reach a final value of £6,688,109, but none of the tickets entered managed to match the six main numbers required to win that top prize.
Four tickets matched five of the main numbers and the Bonus Ball to win a second tier prize of £70,521 each. Another 161 tickets won £1,487 each by matching five main numbers only, and 9,807 tickets won £129 each by matching four main numbers. The smallest prize of £25 went to each of 190,384 tickets that matched three main numbers, and the Lotto Raffle game awarded 50 separate prizes of £20,000 each.
The fact that 2014 ended with a Lotto rollover means that there will be a double rollover jackpot of around £9.2 million to play for this Saturday. The most overdue numbers for that game are 16, 20, 08, 01, 21 and 27, so feel free to include one or more of those on your tickets if you like following the statistics.
Getting back to the EuroMillions game that will be offering a brand new jackpot of around £11 million this Friday, the most overdue main numbers to look out for are 43, 16, 11, 22 and 24, and the most overdue Lucky Stars are 07 and 01.
