Belgium Ends EuroMillions Drought
Updated: Wednesday 9th April 2014
The EuroMillions jackpot was won in Belgium last night, and it was the first time that a Belgian ticket has landed the top prize since Friday 8 June, 2012. On that occasion there was also a British jackpot winner, so if we wanted to locate the last time that Belgium won the top prize outright we would need to go right back to Friday 16 September, 2011. Clearly, there has been quite a drought as far as outright jackpot winners in Belgium are concerned, so well done to whoever it was who brought the dry spell to an end last night!
The EuroMillions results for Tuesday 20 November were 28, 30, 42, 45 and 49, and the Lucky Star numbers were 05 and 10. The jackpot had rolled over from the previous game on Friday 16 November, so it had a final value of €22,756,967, which would have been worth £18,330,737 had the winner been in the UK. There were no UK winners at the second-tier prize level, but one ticket elsewhere matched all five of the main numbers plus one of the Lucky Star numbers to win a hefty €1,163,545.
Seven tickets matched the five main numbers only to qualify for a third-tier prize, and two of those tickets were purchased in the UK, winning their owners £39,290 each. Another 150 tickets won £916 each by matching four main numbers and both of the Lucky Stars, and 725 tickets matched four main numbers and one Lucky Star to win £165 each. The total number of prizes won on Tuesday was 1,636,106, and in the UK the Millionaire Raffle game was won by the ticket matching the number SSY424299.
All of that means we are now in a position where we can look forward to playing for a brand new EuroMillions jackpot of around £12 million this Friday 23 November. Of course, there is also a brand new midweek Lotto jackpot of around £2.2 million to play for this evening (Wednesday 21 November), so you have two golden opportunities over the next few days to win multi-millionaire status in time for Christmas. Play the lottery games online by visiting this page and you won’t even need to go out in the rain to give yourself a chance of winning! Good luck!
