Alton Lucky Ten
Updated: Monday 21st September 2015
A syndicate of ten Lotto players calling themselves the ‘Lucky Ten’ matched all six numbers in the draw on Wednesday 3 December to win a £1,093,846 share of the jackpot. This means that each syndicate member is £109,384 richer, and their Christmas celebrations are sure to be extra special this year.
The Lucky Ten lottery syndicate is made up of workers at Kemlite Ltd, a company in Alton, Hampshire that manufactures fibreglass panels. The syndicate, which is led by 31 year old Jamie Holloway, has been playing for just six weeks.
“We only started the syndicate six weeks ago so I was amazed when I found out we had won the jackpot!” Jamie said. “One of the syndicate members saw the numbers on Teletext and as soon as I arrived at work, at 5.15am the morning after the draw, they ran out to tell me. Never before have I seen so many grown men hugging and dancing with each other!”
Jamie plans to buy a new house for himself, his two children and his partner Kylie. Other syndicate members are looking to spend their money on holidays, new cards, making home improvements and paying off their mortgages.
“It’s certainly going to be a good Christmas in our household and it’s a great relief for me that I can use this money to give my family a little more security,” Jamie said. “We haven’t had the chance to celebrate as a group yet, as it’s been work as usual, however we will be celebrating soon and plan to carry on playing the lottery. I also think some of our other work colleagues will want to join our syndicate!”
The lottery results for Wednesday 3 December, 2008 were 4, 12, 19, 21, 34 and 44. The bonus ball was 38, but the Lucky Ten didn’t need that as they had already won the jackpot by the time it was drawn. We offer our congratulations to the syndicate and wish all of the lucky members a very happy Christmas.Published: Monday 22nd December 2008
