A Whole Lotto Déjà Vu
Updated: Monday 20th July 2015
The Lotto jackpot of £4,744,746 on Saturday 29 January was shared by three winning tickets, giving each one a value of £1,581,582. This was a remarkably similar outcome to the one on Saturday 22 January, when a jackpot of £4,467,732 was also split three ways. Although none of the lottery results were the same as when the jackpot was won by three tickets the week before, two main numbers were repeated from the midweek draw on Wednesday 26 January. Both coincidences combined were probably enough to give plenty of regular players a strong sense of déjà vu!
The Lotto results on Saturday 29 January were 05, 20, 25, 30, 36 and 47, and the Bonus Ball was 15. The numbers which repeated from the midweek draw were 20 and 47, and regular readers will be interested to note that two of the ‘most overdue’ numbers which we previously flagged up (05 and 30) also made an appearance. It will be interesting to see if any of the latest numbers happen to repeat in the next draw this Wednesday 02 February, or whether any of the current ‘overdue’ numbers (01, 28, 29, 23, 27 and 28) will make an appearance.
In addition to the trio of jackpot lottery winners mentioned earlier, 12 players matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball to win a second-tier prize of £121,660 each, whilst 425 players matched five main numbers only and won £2,146 each. 33,019 players won £60 each by matching four main numbers, and 516,576 players picked up £10 each for matching three main numbers. This means that a total of 550,035 Lotto prizes were won last Saturday, so as always there were plenty of players with something to celebrate.
The jackpot for the next Lotto draw this Wednesday 02 February will be worth around £2.4 million, and a couple of days later there will be a EuroMillions rollover jackpot of around £25 million to play for. That’s because no player succeeded in matching all five main numbers (13, 23, 24, 41 and 42) as well as the two Lucky Star numbers (01 and 05) last Friday. Of course, one EuroMillions player in the UK did become a millionaire after matching the Millionaire Raffle number, which was KKC651655.
