A Bigger Saturday Lotto Jackpot
Updated: Thursday 10th April 2014
Lottery players will have a bigger than usual Saturday Lotto jackpot to try and win this weekend after the jackpot in the Wednesday Lotto game rolled over. The Lotto results on Wednesday 10 October were 15, 19, 23, 29, 30 and 46, and the Bonus Ball number was 02. The jackpot had a final value of £2.28 million, but no player was able to match all six of the main numbers that are needed to win it. For that reason, the next Lotto jackpot – which will be up for grabs the day after the £37 million triple rollover jackpot in the EuroMillions game – is expected to be worth around £6.4 million.
258 tickets fell just one main number short of winning the Lotto jackpot last night, so we can only imagine how it must have felt for the owners of those tickets to be on the verge of becoming a millionaire, only to fall at the last hurdle. 10 of the tickets just mentioned managed to redeem the situation somewhat by also matching the Bonus Ball, and that enabled them to win a second-tier prize of £70,428 each. The other 248 tickets had to settle for a third-tier prize of £1,774 each.
14,090 tickets matched four main numbers only to win £68 each and there were 271,174 tickets that picked up the smallest possible prize of £10 each by matching three main numbers. Congratulations to everyone who won a midweek Lotto prize last night and especially to those who managed to land one of the second-tier prizes.
Looking ahead to the next few days, lottery players in the UK will have the chance to get their hands on a share of over £44 million - £37 million in the EuroMillions game this Friday, a £1 million prize in the associated Millionaire Raffle game and £6.4 million in the Lotto game on Saturday. There will also be plenty of cash up for grabs in the Thunderball, Health Lottery and Lotto Plus 5 games between now and the end of the week.
You can buy tickets online here for all of the games just mentioned, so if the weather outside is miserable (or you just fancy taking things easy) you might as well play your chosen lotteries from the comfort of your own home. You will have just as much chance of winning a jackpot as those who buy their tickets offline, and you’ll be notified automatically if you succeed! Enjoy your weekend and good luck!
