29 Lotto Bonus Ball Winners
Lottery players generally expect to see just a handful of winners at the second-tier prize level in the Lotto game, but on Saturday 14 January there were no less than 29 tickets that matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball to win £36,013 each. The jackpot itself was also won. In fact, three tickets matched all six main numbers required to land the £3,394,314 jackpot, giving each winner a share worth £1,131,438. The Lotto results that made all of this possible on Saturday were 07, 10, 12, 15, 25 and 42, and the Bonus Ball was 33.
There were 761 winning tickets at the third-tier prize level and each of those won £857 for matching five main numbers only. Another 704,253 tickets won either £36 or £10 each by matching four or three main numbers, respectively.
The relatively high number of winning tickets at the non-jackpot prize levels in the Lotto game was most probably due to the fact that five of the six main numbers fell within a fairly tight range. Anyone who had focused on entering numbers from 07 to 25 (a range of just 19 numbers) would have had a superb chance of winning a prize, and clearly many players did exactly that.
In the EuroMillions game on Friday 13 January the jackpot wasn’t won, but 10 tickets did match all five main numbers (13, 14, 21, 27 and 39) and one of the two Lucky Stars (06 or 08) to win £150,315 each. There were another 10 winning tickets at the third-tier level, and each of those won £50,105 by matching five main numbers only. The total number of prizes won was 4,052,456, and that doesn’t include the Millionaire Raffle prize of £1 million that went to the UK player who matched the number MBD404325.
Because the EuroMillions jackpot eluded players last Friday, it has rolled for the second time in a row and the jackpot in the next game this Tuesday 17 January will be worth around £29 million. Then, on Wednesday, the Lotto game starts afresh with a midweek jackpot worth around £2.2 million. As always, lottery tickets are available online for both games, so help yourself today and good luck in the draws!
