£10 Million Lotto Jackpot Claimed!

£10 Million Lotto Jackpot Claimed!
Updated: Tuesday 8th April 2014

A few days ago we highlighted the fact that the first jackpot won under the new Lotto rules had not been claimed even though the draw took place on Saturday 5 October. We can now report that the winner has finally come forward, making someone £10 million richer, so well done to the lucky player concerned. We already know that he or she bought the winning ticket in Bradford, but they have not chosen to go public about their win at this time, so no further details are currently available.

In a press release issued by lottery organisers, a spokesperson said: ‘We’re delighted that the winner of this amazing prize has now come forward and we hope that they will enjoy their win. It would have been awful if the ticket-holder had missed out on this substantial and life-changing amount of money. We would like to remind all National Lottery players to check their tickets every time they play.’

We would also like to add, as we have said before on numerous occasions, that players can get into the habit of buying tickets online so that any win is automatically linked to their account. Checking your own numbers is still highly recommended, but at least you won’t risk losing your ticket and missing out on a potential fortune.

In other UK lottery news, organisers recently issued a correction to the official jackpot prize figure for the Lotto draw that was held on Saturday 19 October. There were three tickets that matched the six main numbers, and the corrected jackpot figure for that draw is £4,860,213 rather than the £6,228,639 which was originally declared, giving each of the winners an equal share worth £1,620,071.

The Lotto results for the latest game on Wednesday 23 October were 10, 18, 27, 37, 41 and 47, with the number 33 appearing as the Bonus Ball. One ticket matched all of the numbers to win the jackpot, which was worth £2,665,302, and three tickets matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball to win £70,914 each. More than 139,000 tickets won prizes at the lower levels, and 50 players won a Lotto Raffle prize of £20,000 each.

Lottery fans can now look forward to playing for a EuroMillions double rollover jackpot worth an estimated £26 million this Friday. Head this way to buy your tickets online and good luck with your numbers!
