Due to launch in late 2018, the Harrogate Lottery "The Local Lotto" draw will offer a weekly jackpot of £25,000 along with other smaller weekly prizes.
The announcement of the new district lottery is part of a growing trend of local authority lotteries around the UK, where jackpots are capped at £25,000 (or 10% of sales, whichever is greater).
Under plans, tickets will cost £1 each, with 60 pence from each ticket going to local charities, voluntary organisations and community groups. Any local organisations that wish to attend meetings for further information about how the game will work and how they can benefit, should register their interest by 13th June 2018 on the Harrogate Borough Council website.
Further information about how the game works will be released nearer to the launch of the draw. This page will be updated with any news regarding the draw as and when it is announced.
