Harrogate Lottery

The Harrogate district’s “Local Lotto" draw offers a weekly jackpot of £25,000 along with other smaller prizes. Tickets went on sale on Tuesday 17th July 2018 ahead of the first draw which took place on Saturday 8th September. All draws are held at 8pm on Saturday evenings.

This lottery is part of a growing trend of local authority lotteries around the UK, where jackpots are capped at £25,000 (or 10% of sales, whichever is greater).

How Does it Work?

Getting your chance to win great cash prizes whilst supporting the local community is easy! Just follow these steps:

Prizes & Odds of Winning

As well as the £25,000 jackpot, there are four other prize tiers to play for each week. Here are the details on all prizes available, how to win them, and your chances of doing so:

Numbers Matched* Prize Odds
6 £25,000 1 in 1,000,000
5 £2,000 1 in 55,556
4 £250 1 in 5,556
3 £25 1 in 556
2 3x Free Tickets 1 in 56
The overall odds of winning any prize in the Harrogate Lottery are 1 in 50.

*Players must match the winning numbers in order. For example, if the winning number was 897041 then you would win £25 if your ticket was 897XXX or XXX041. Match all six numbers in the correct order to bag the jackpot.

The £25,000 top prize is fixed. This means that if more than one player wins they won't have to share, each will receive £25,000.

Good Causes

Sixty percent of the revenue from ticket sales is donated to good causes, which is far more than the 28% donated by the National Lottery. Plus, all of the organisations supported operate within the Harrogate district, so by playing you are helping your local community. Over 20 charities have already signed up to receive funding, including Harrogate Homeless Project, Ripon Activity Project and Disability Action Yorkshire.

As well as helping these organisations to raise money, the Harrogate Borough Council hopes to use the lottery to raise their profiles and the awareness of the great work that they do.
