The Lottery Ticket is a comedy movie that is scheduled to hit big screens around the world from August 2010. It tells the story of a young man called Kevin Carson (played by Bow Wow) who lives in the projects in America and who wants what every young man wants – a better life, or at least a hot girlfriend on his arm in the meantime. Unfortunately, the girls he is most interested in aren’t keen on him, and so it looks like Kevin will have to put with his situation for a while longer. But then something amazing happens – Kevin Carson buys the lottery ticket and manages to win himself a jackpot worth $370 million!

Kevin is with his grandmother when he watches the numbers on the lottery ticket come up live on television, and her first instinct, after screaming with delight, is to reach for the telephone and tell someone – anyone – about the good news. Kevin makes her hang up before she follows through with her plan and tells her that they need to keep the lottery ticket win a secret. They are, after all, in the projects, and a young man with a lottery ticket worth $370 million could attract a lot of unwanted attention if word were to get out before the claim was made.
Kevin heads to the the lottery ticket headquarters to make his claim straight away, but when he gets there he discovers that he won’t be able to make the lottery ticket claim for another three days because of the 4 July holiday weekend. Disheartened, he returns home with his lottery ticket only to discover that word of his win has got out anyway and half the neighbourhood is waiting to greet him.

That’s when the Lottery Ticket movie really takes off, and Kevin has to survive three days of constant attention from all kinds of people who want a slice of his lottery ticket win. From girls who suddenly find him incredibly attractive and willing to shower him with more affection than ever before, to more aggressive individuals who would prefer to get their hands on the lottery ticket using more direct methods, the majority of Kevin’s neighbours are out for themselves.
The Lottery Ticket movie will obviously appeal to lottery players everywhere, but even non-lottery fans will enjoy this comedy. With a cast of stars (including Ice Cube, Terry Crews, Keith David, Brandon T Jackson, and Loretta Devine), witty dialogue throughout and a plot that focuses on everyman’s dream of changing his life forever, Lottery Ticket is a movie that will put a smile on your face and deliver all the feel-good sentiment you could hope for this summer.
