Time Running Out For Newcastle EuroMillions Winner To Claim Prize

Time Running Out For Newcastle EuroMillions Winner To Claim Prize

National Lottery bosses have made a last-ditch plea for EuroMillions players in the Newcastle area to check their old tickets. A £1 million prize is set to expire before the end of the week and if the ticket holder does not come forward in time they will miss out on the seven-figure windfall.

The all-important entry was bought in Newcastle ahead of the draw on 19th December 2017. It matched the winning Millionaire Maker code XMKV 63264, and the lucky participant should have been able to look forward to picking up their £1 million.

However, all National Lottery prizes must be claimed within 180 days and the clock is now ticking for the Newcastle player to get in touch before the deadline on 17th June. If the prize is unclaimed, the money will be donated to the Good Causes Fund to support worthy projects around the UK.

Andy Carter, the National Lottery’s Senior Winners’ Advisor, said: “Time really is running out for the winner of this prize, but we are still hopeful that someone will come forward at the very last minute to claim the money.

“We’re urging everyone to check their old tickets one final time or look anywhere a missing EuroMillions ticket could be hiding. This life-changing prize could really help to make dreams become a reality for someone out there.”

How To Make Sure You Don’t Miss Out On A Prize

If you buy a ticket from a retailer, it is vital to keep it in a safe place so you do not lose it. It may be that you decide to keep it in a bedside cabinet, a jar, your wallet, or even in an item of clothing, but it is best to think of somewhere memorable so you can easily check if you are a winner after a draw.

When it comes to checking your ticket, a lot of players can just scan over the winning numbers from the main game and neglect to look at the full results. Two UK players are guaranteed to win £1 million in the Millionaire Maker in every EuroMillions draw, while the Lotto Raffle offers one prize of £1 million and 20 further awards of £20,000. You are automatically entered into these additional games when you purchase a ticket and given a random code, which can be seen right under your numbers on your ticket.

You can go to a store to have your ticket scanned after a draw has taken place, or use the Lottery.co.uk Checker to see if you are a winner.

The best way to make sure you do not miss out on a prize is to take part online. There is no danger of a ticket being lost, stolen or damaged as your numbers are safely stored, and you will be automatically notified if you win a prize. Smaller winnings will be paid directly into your account, while you will be guided through how to claim larger awards such as a jackpot of Millionaire Maker prize.

If you join an online syndicate, you will also be boosting your chances of winning as you can share multiple entries with other players. The EuroMillions jackpot is up to £24 million for Friday night’s draw following a rollover on Tuesday, but it has been a great month for big winners so far and you could be the next lucky player if you get involved now.
