Lottery win for Millionaire
US Senator
What do you give the man who has everything? Senator Judd Gregg
who chairs the US Senate Budget Committee looks like he knows. On
a spur-of-the-moment decision he bought a Powerball ticket and won
£482,000. Already a multi-millionaire, Senator Judd could
have been looking at a jackpot win of $340 million as the Powerball
pot had reached an all-time record value, but he ‘only’ matched
five of the six numbers to net his win (along with 46 other ticket
holders). Senator Gregg came close to missing out though, as he
got the lottery machine to pick his numbers having spent $20 and
accidentally he left one sheet of tickets in the machine. Luckily
the petrol shop assistant noticed and ran after him to return them.
Who knows who might have won if she had not done this!
The jackpot $340 million ticket was bought by Steve West, from Oregon
who matched all six Powerball numbers and with three family members
will share the prize. They plan to invest the money.
