Lucky in Love
One of the National Lottery’s ‘Love’ Scratchcard’s
top £100,000 prizes has been won by Trina Hodgson, from Leasowe
on the Wirral. As her birthday is Valentine ’s Day she thought
she’d give this ‘Love’ card a go, and bought one
with a friend, who then watched her reveal the three winning numbers.
It wasn’t until the card had been scanned and confirmed as
a winner that Trina could believe her luck. She texted her husband
the good news, and now plans an overseas holiday for the family,
but not until she gets a passport!
Meanwhile a 13-strong Taxi driver syndicate are celebrating their
second big win with the lottery. This time they won a share of the
jackpot worth £546,480 from the draw on 24 February when the
jackpot was worth £4.9m, but there were 9 winners. Back in
February 2002 the same syndicate won £144,222 on Lotto. Syndicate
leader Alan Russell only had his ticket checked when he went to
his usual shop, the Wickbourne Store in Wick, to buy the next week’s
ticket. But his daughter had told him she’d had a dream about
someone she knew winning the lottery. Now he’s planning a
spending spree to celebrate his 30th wedding anniversary. Many of
the other members are planning once-in-a-lifetime holidays. Their
winning numbers which were originally picked at random were 5,18,26,34,42,49.
